Hi all,
For those of you who may have missed it, Dragon Models is no longer sponsoring the Aeroscale Model of the Month contest. But have no fear, the contest will go on regardless.
In the interim, I will host the contest, providing prizes from the samples which have been sent to me for review (therefore winners should not expect a pristine, unopened, unfondled kit; in many cases parts have been removed from the sprues it check fit, etc. But hey, a free model is a free model!)
I will now take this opportunity to put out a call for volunteers to host a month's contest. All you will need to do is to commit to providing a prize model and to mail it to wherever in the world the winner lives. In return, you get credit for the month's MOM feature, and you get to make the announcement regarding the winners (don't worry, I'll let you know who they are in plenty of time). You get to clear a model out of your stash, the winner gets their prize and Aeroscale fosters a spirit of community. I figure that's a win-win-win proposition. Since there are only 12 months per year, being a sponsor is hardly difficult.
The rules will remain largely unchanged, and I will continue to run the contest exactly the way it's been run the past few years.
I will sponsor the March contest to get things moving. Prospective sponsors can contact me through my Aeroscale e-mail address: jessica.cooper(at)aeroscale.co.uk
What say ye, Aeroscalers? Who is brave enough and generous enough to sponsor a Contest?

Sorry to hear that Dragon has exited the contest! Is there criteria for the giveaway kit?

I leave that entirely up to the Sponsor. I would recommend that you pick a kit which reflects the quality of the winning model.

I've been away for awhile. I'm sorry to hear about Dragon leaving the contest. Is there plans to approach other manufactures for support? Revell, Eduard, even companies such as Round 2, LLC., which have purchased Hawk and Lindberg?
The new idea of sponsors is great, but it would be nice if another company stepped in. It's a win, win when all is said at the end of the day.
