I started the Hasegawa P-51D Mustang the other day. Got most of the smaller sub-assemblies done. This one will be OOB. Also, this is my first A/C in about 20 years.

Here is the link

Chris-- looks good. I would add some brass color to the .50 belts.
Nice work.

Thanks, that was the next thing to do on that assembly.

The darn seam lines running down the body are killing me.

Perhaps a the bullets could have gold casings and brass tips. Since it's already silver, apply yellow to it to make it to golden yellow then use a toothpick and carefully detail the bullet heads with a toothpick and gold/copper/brass color.

Hi Armor66,
Just a thought. Use "Sludge wash" on the cockpit after it's completed. It'll bring out the details.

Also the floor board for the cockpit is wood so you'll have to paint it a "wood" color.

The interior is done with interior green.

I am planning on doing just that....I have not gotten to that part yet but believe me it is coming. Like I've said before, I have done an A/C in many many moons. I am not up to date with all the little tips when it comes to aircraft modeling (since all I do in armor). I should have more pic in the next few days. My digital is not that great so I am taking pic with my Nikon film camera and having the pictures put onto CD.

First A/C in 20 years, eh?

So far so good, I'd also add a smidge of brass to the ammo belts as well.
Keep us up to date if you can!
