I have been thinking about this for a while, and since this is the first campaign idea I have had, I wanted to do something with plenty of variation, and since my family has a naval background, the FAA seemed like the perfect subject for a campaign.
When you think about it, there is a huge variety of aircraft that have served with the FAA over the years, here is a quick list that I have come up with off the top of my head:
Pre WW2 -
Hawker Nimrod
WW2 era pistons -
Fairy Fulmar
Fairy Firefly
Fairy Barracuda
Fairy Swordfish
Fairy Albacore
Hawker Sea Hurricane
Gloster Sea Gladiator
Blackburn Skua
Supermarine Seafire
Grumman Martlet/Wildcat
Grumman Hellcat
Vought F4U Corsair
De Havilland Sea Mosquito
Post WW2 Pistions-
Hawker Sea Fury
Fairy Gannet
Westland Wyvern
De Havilland Sea Hornet
Jets -
Gloster Sea Meteor
Hawker Sea Hawk
Hawker Siddeley Harrier
De Havilland Sea Vampire
De Havilland Sea Venom
De Havilland Sea Vixen
Supermarine Attacker
Supermarine Scimitar
Blackburn Buccaneer
McDonnell Douglas F4 Phantom
Helicopters -
Westland Wasp
Westland Wessex
Westland Merlin
Westland Sea King
Westland Lynx
This is not a complete list of types opperated by the Fleet Air Arm but it is every one I could think of off the top of my head - feel free to leave more suggestions below, and let me know what you think of this campaign idea - I guess that now it would have to run towards the end of this year - maybe early next year, probably a fair few months away anyway, but I think it will be great fun, and there should be plenty of variety in terms of build subjects!

It would need to be FAA II, because we ran a Fleet Air Arm Campaign just last year

Right, a change of name is in order! FAA II it is!

That one was mine, but I have no objection to part II if people are into it! Can I use the model I didn't finish in that one?

No problem being new Simon, we all were at one time or another! And thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid it's a little more than "partially" completed; it's really just about ready for paint! But I might find something else. Hmm... maybe about time for another Stringbag...

This sounds interesting. I have a 1/48 Buccaneer and Sea Vixen that would fit just fine. Count me in.

Always wanted to build a Walrus, so this might be a good motivator.

I build he builds you do he as you are me and we all build together.
See how they run from kits like this one, see how they fly.
I'm crying.
Sitting at my workbench, waiting for the van to come.
Fitting parts together, stupid bloody Tuesday.
Man, you got a rotten kit, you made an awful choice.
I place the parts here, they place the parts there.
I build the Walrus, goo goo g'joob.

Well provided we can get enough support for this campaign to get off the deck - I have finally narrowed down my options, I'm thinking a Fairy Firefly or a DeHavilland Sea Venom/Sea Hornet.
Now all we need is a few more people

welcome aboard Paul! (so to speak )
Having seen the swordfish in the flesh a couple of times now, it never ceases to amaze me how big that old kite is, and how it remained in service right up until the end of the war!

Well depending on when this is due to run I'll be in I do however have two ship campaigns starting in August so the start date will be the deciding factor.
If the time is right I'll be in with either a Hunter GA.11, Hunter T.8M or Grob Tutor none shipbourne but all very much FAA aircraft
