In about six months, a quarter of a century has passed since the first Gulf War. Started with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on 2 August 1990, it evolved into a major conflict, the first since the end of the Cold War.
When it comes to military hardware, and especially aircraft, this was a breaking point: many of the intended Cold War warriors (A-10, Jaguar, Buccaneer, F-4 Phantom, Mirage F-1...) were called upon for service (some on both sides...) and even got a new lease of life (at least the Jaguar and A-10 but I might be wrong on that one). Other aircraft on the Allied side that I know are popular were the F-14 Tomcat.
I think this would be a marvellous idea for a campaign and it maybe should involve some of the things that moved around on the ground and sea as well?
Any takers? And do we have a campaign leader? I am not sure that I am up to the task even if it might be my turn...
