I've joined expressly for the purpose of asking this question - it's something that I've thought about a few times but have stalled on it for lack of being able to find the required manufacturer.

Forgive me if this idea sounds crazy btw.

I'm interested in finding a manufacturer who can produce a run of about 500-1000 1:18 (of thereabouts) scale model aircraft - of a similar quality to the BBI Elite Force or JSI range of modern fighters (F-16/F-18/F-14).

Long story short, BBI haven't released anything new in that range for years and I believe there is a market for some carefully considered/selected aircraft types that would be of interest to collectors of large scale airplane models such as BBI/JSI have previously released.

I am sure there is someone in China who could do this - the question is though, can they do it at the same or better quality and standard as the BBI/JSI range (If there's a group of people who have an eye for detail, its scale modellers lol!) and can they do it for a price that makes it feasable?

If anyone knows of a company/facotry/contact in China who could do this, I would love to know!

I've had a quick scan over alibaba and madeinchina - but ultimately I am worried that I will just end up wasting time and money on being told by "yes men" that they can do it, promise the world and deliver sub-standard concept/pre-production samples that just don't cut it.

Bronco Models may be worth contacting. The injection moulded kits are of a high standard and so should meet your needs if you can agree a price.

You may want to consider Merit International as they released a 1/18 Dauntless so they are not strangers to that scale.
