Hi All,
There are some interesting builds happening here, after a short layoff I got back to progressing a little further with my RAAF PR variant. Having now got the camera nose section added and cleaned up.
Note:- I may not be able to complete this subject before the required date as I will be on holidays in the U.K and Europe, from the middle of July to the middle of August.

Hi All,
Having returned home from my Overseas trip and getting back into the plastics again.
The progress on my campaign build, I have applied the top coat to my subject of A55-1, using Gunze Acrylics of Olive Drab/ Folliage Green applied freehand over Xtra Color Sky Blue.
Next stage is to clean up the small extras and fix the landing gear and apply the decals.
On the second pic I used the flash when taking the photo.

In case anyone wash't aware, the gallery is experiencing issues. Admin is aware of it and working on it. I'll try to post when it gets fixed.

Greetings All.
The progress to date that I have done to my RAAF P-38 Photo Recon Lightning, I based my subject on A55-1 {ex USAAC 41-2158} with the Hybrid Camo Scheme. It was also the only aircraft to carry the fin flashes on both sides of the rudder. The upper surfaces are freehand using Gunze Olive Drab / Foliage Green over RAAF Sky Blue.
Sadly I made a mistake on the upper wing decals.
More to follow later.

While I've been working on the Pipistrello for the fixed gear campaign I have been tinkering on and off with the P-38. it's now sits on it's landing gear and I'm soon to attach the doors then a wash and some light weathering. After which I'm pretty much finished. Here are a few pics to show how she's doing.

Just a little over a week left everyone, this campaign closes at midnight, 1 November (I consider that midnight at the international date line, I like to stretch these out). Get cracking!

Here's another update just weathering left now. I thought I might try using mechanical pencil sharpened to a fine point to create my panel lines. It worked surprisingly well, I've seen other modelers use it to show panel lines that had been lost. If you make a mistake a couple of swipes with an eraser will remove it. But the pencil needs to be sharp and you have to re-sharpen it often. It will also show up on decals as well if they are light in colour.

Well I'm done! Here are some pics of the finished article, all I have to do now is put a couple of pics up in the gallery.

All,
This campaign has officially ended but there are no completed Lightnings in the campaign gallery so no ribbons have been awarded. It seems to me that a few of you finished their kits. Get 'em in there and we can wrap this up!

Thanks Michael for the heads up. Work has kept me from anything that resembles a hobby.
