Burt Gustafson describes his fine build of Hobby Boss's quarterscale FJ-4 Fury. His only aftermarket addition was a set of seat harnesses.

Burt; really good Fury. Loaded for air-to-ground bear, too! I had the old ESCI that I really wanted to build but eventually I sold it. This looks like a much superior kit. I'll have to buy one.

JPTRR; Thanks for the compliment. By all means buy this kit, it's an enjoyable kit to build.

Burt,
Another quality build for your miniature museum. I really don't see any issues with how you decaled and painted the nose intake, looks really good to me. The kit decals also look like they settled down into the nooks and crannies quite nicely. Were they done in house or by Cartograf?
Looking forward to your next feature build.
Joel

Joel: Thanks for the compliment. The decals were kit decals. When I decal a model I hit each decal with a bit of Solveset, unless the Solveset is too strong for the decals. I test a small decal before using it on all the decals.

Burt, very nice build. I'm glad to hear the kit goes together well. I'm building it for the fighter-bomber group build. One thing I discovered while researching the Fury in Detail&Scale was that when carring Bullpups a data link pod had to be carried on one of the inboard pylons. The kit doesn't supply it and I'm sure Hobbyboss didn't do the necessary reseach.
I hope I can do as well as you did in your build. Thanks for the tip on the nose weight.
