Wonderful builds going on. I'm undecided about my entry.
Brent,
What have you in your stash? Put it up for a vote? You know, be inspired by popular demand?
Good luck,
Gary

OK, the
D.VII is finished, time to get this party started:
Black, silver, and steel are airbrushed. On to detail painting in the cockpit tomorrow.

Thanks Peter!
Started construction. Here's the nose wheel bay:
Oddly, the roof on mine was warped. Easy enough fix, just bent it into position and clamped it to the sides until it dried.
Here are the main cockpit components. Dark in there!
I've glued it all together now. Everyone says it just "clicks together". Nothing ever "clicks together" for me (except maybe Tamiya) but it's coming along nicely.

Yeah Mike I always seem to get the kits which seem to have minor fit defects. Tamiya are the exception though.
Looking good so far mate.

Then, suddenly, today:
Nearly time for paint!

Man oh man, I am struggling with this kit. Between being an absolute goon with photoetch, and using a boat load of filler(there's been a lot more in a lot more places since these photos)
I think my next build will be one without so many options. On this one, with so many options for open weapons bays and such, its just a bit too complex for me, and I'm a bit over my head.

Those Eduard 190s are no shake-n-bakes, that's for sure. Keep at it!

And the underside painted:
I do love it when a model company makes separate closed gear doors that fit! Makes masking so much easier.
My understanding is that the bottom of Javelins were painted "speed silver", not bare metal. So I used Floquil Old Silver, which I think looks good as a silver laquer finish.

Logan,
Keep it up with that FW. I've got one in my stash that's demanding to be built every day.

Almost got her finished up! Got paint and decals done, and the first round of weathering. A little bit more weathering tomorrow afternoon, clear coat the next day, and then she should be done!

Thanks Gary! I've had some trouble with the landing gear, The plane doesn't want to stay up on it's own, I might have t rig something up on a base to keep it in place and upright. Just one more struggle to add to the list with this build, but it shouldn't look too bad tucked back in the display case haha.
And I really liked your Uhu, it turned out great!

Finished it a bit quicker than I thought I would.
Completely out of the box, one tough build! Does anyone know how the 1/48 bf109E-1 kit compares to this in terms of difficulty?
And my attempt at a photoshop

Very nice Logan! I understand the 109 is more along the lines of the F6F and so forth, much easier.

The story so far:
(Yes the starboard stab broke off. I'll glue it on towards the end. I didn't really need the things to move anyway.
)
Base colors on, hopefully I'll get to gloss coat tomorrow.

OK, gloss coating done on the Javelin and underside decals on:
Lot of stencils but it looks like this is the worst part.

In case anyone wash't aware, the gallery is experiencing issues. Admin is aware of it and working on it. I'll try to post when it gets fixed.

@ Mike - I always liked the Javelin, but I'm still waiting patiently for a new-tooled 1/72 kit (maybe Airfix
) Anyway, yours is looking great

Well now, as I'm enlisted for this campaign, here are the first pictures from my bench:
I decided to build something for "Red Air"
Will pimp it up a little with resin AA-12 Adders from TallyHo.
Happy glueing everyone

Nice choices Richard and Peter!
Airframe decalling done on the Javelin:
Only a few left on the pylons (8 each!), then a final gloss coat and I'll be ready for the final construction.
