Just finishing my Revell AR196A-3. Really liked the kit. no extras used. The only thing i did not like is the Canopies thought the multipart thing here could have been better done. Tamiya and Vallejo colours. Weathering with Oils. Will post some with all the small bits added on and mounted on the base.

Why do I like the Ar 196 and the OS2U and the F1M so much? I dunno, but I do and I want this model! Even more now that I see your model, Alastair.

A tip, try photographing your models with a plain background; I piece of white, blue or even black card, clamped to a table and allowed to bend up to form a backdrop (so there is no hard edge or junction), or a sheet will work. You can get reasonable results using the sun through a window (be aware of bright sun, it will create harsh shadows), and the flash of the camera to help eliminate shadows. A cluttered background detracts from the model

lol.. i am a photographer but these are workshop bench photos... now that it is mounted on its base and all the aerials done i will use our table and backgrounds to get proper photo.. these were courtesy of my nokia

A most impressive build for sure. Those folded wings look like they're just being held on ever so lightly. How hard was it to actually get them to stay in that configuration?

the wings are actually quite sturdy although i had some isses with getting them into the slots and had to shape the large tangs that go into the fuselage. The wings have to be supported whilst the glue is going off - i used revell contacta for the wings and they are fine. the support also ensured that the hinge detail mated up.
