Hi There,
I just purchased the Academy 1/32 scale Sopwith Camel and looking for pointers on building it. I'm fairly new to A/C being mainly a figure modeller. I plan on building a vignette/dio with some British 54mm figures.
Any suggestions would be very helpful
Cheers

Ray,
I may want to look at the following website.
http://www.wwi-models.org/
There is alot of useful information here and there is a email discussion group, that's worldwide. I am a member and have learned alot from them. You could also check the message archive for information on your model.
Hope this helps.
Mike

Ray, you might also try www.theaerodrome.com Great bunch of chaps! Suggest "google"ing 'Academy 1/32 Sopwith Camel reviews' to get a "feel" for the kit. It's not a bad 'un, but suffers from "starved cow" wing-, horzontal stab- and rudder-rib detail (correctable with a little "glass-paper "(as the Brits would say) and elbow grease). The 1/28 Revell is a better kit, but, of course, wouldn't work with your 54mm figures. One nice feature of both kits is separate "hump" moulding, which allows the AMS afflicted modeler the chance to super-detail to one's heart's content. If you choose this route, you're in luck, as the web abounds with detail pics of "Mr. Sopwif's Camol." If you desire, I can provide you with line drawings of all the "juicy bits." Just contact me off-forum. Beware, though. After one WWI kit you'll be hooked for the rest of your modeling life! All the Best, Rob

Hi Guys,
thanks for the tips, I also have the Blue Max 1/48th scale sopwith camel (Capt Roy Brown's A/C). I think I'll tackle that soon as well. I have some nice CMK figures to put along side of it. There's something about WWI A/C that really interests me.
Cheers
