Hi Steffen
Nice work. Slow? - maybe by some standards, but positively rocketing along by mine! LOL! I haven't managed to get to the workbench for a week, so I'm impressed (and slightly envious) to see such fast progress.

Hi Rowan,
well, slow for the short timespan left and the whole weekend of time. You know my normal, glacial speed ... so I am really fast in that respect.
cheers

Well,
fast or not at the moment I am fighting all the small items, like guns, prop and spinner... no pic as there is no real progress.

I bought my first bottle at Telford 2003 and a kind soul ( you know who you are ) got me another two bottles some years ago so I still have some stock of the old formula stuff.

Nice one Steffen
It's looking great. I'm still using old-style Klear - probably the same vintage as yours.

Hi again,
sooo this is probably as far as I can get today. Almost done but still some tweaks and fix-ups needed (e.g. exhausts and Bombs). All in al I am quite happy so far, though the flat coat eats a lot of the variation in colour (esp. on pictures).

Thanks Damian and Joel,
well, I am done. I could do some more weathering but I like it like it is now. Here is a teaser for tomorrows 10 pic walk around:

Steffen,
Very nicely done. Looking forward to your walk around. Hopefully you'll have it posted before I have to leave for work early afternoon.

That's really more colourful than the early US olive drab scheme would suggest. I love it! I also really like the way you've done the scuffed paintwork.

Hi Steffen!
Congrats to a really nice bird. I learned a lot and will probably use it in a smaller scale some time. Thanks for sharing! looking forward to the walk around!
My wife is in London soon? I will ask her to buy some Klear instead of a souvenir !

Many thanks for the kind comments!!
Joel: well it is early morning saturday here (see pix below)
Jessica: I agree it is very colorful, but in the Italeri boxing are some even more striking markings (...sharkmouth), but I am focussing on ace pilots so it had to be Russo. Sadly I know no photograph of his A-36A, so most of the markings are just taken from the Superscale decals. There are several variations of profiles of this bird (overpainted tail markings, kill marks, skull and crossed bones on the fin).
Oliver: I do not think there was much to learn from my very simple build, but thanks for watching
Naseby: well, personally I am happy that I did make it, 20 days is good for my own standards but nothing to mention. I bet this build could be done over a long weekend.
And now finally my 10 pictures:
Again: Many thanks to all for the kind commments and the encouragement!

Steffen,
Outstanding build. Your cameo paint scheme is dead on with nicely applied decals that look more like they were painted on. Your weathering, especially the tops of the wings is really quite well done.
Your selling yourself and your build short thinking that it could be done to this standard in just a long weekend.

Well Joel, it is possible.
I finished this one in 4 days: Fine Moulds Ki.10
and I like how it turned out so this was not quick and dirty...
Thanks for your comments !!
