Hello all.

After a long, no VERY long, absence from the hobby I have returned and in doing so have fulfilled a long standing ambition to build a 1/48 example of perhaps my favourite aircraft, the Hawker Typhoon !

I managed to pick up the Hasegawa kit and it looks pretty good to my amateur eye.

Only thing missing though is a pilot, I really think an aircraft should have a pilot.

So I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation on an aftermarket pilot.

I'll be wanting a seated guy, actually flying the plane not posing standing on the wing or anything like that.

I'm wondering why they quit putting pilots in. I half suspect so they can charge an exorbitant price for a diminutive piece of aftermarket plastic. Maybe I can find some old monogram kits on e-bay. Pretty sure they all had pilots way back when.

It's good to know I've not lost all my marbles just yet Gazza, I was sure it was pretty rare not to have a bloke in the many kits I built long ago

Scott,
I like the option of putting the plane on a stand with their gear up. It just doesn't look convincing without a pilot. Plenty of older kits for sale at eBay.

Cheers!
