Hello,

looking on ebay (France), I've seen many inexpensive 1/144th models. Many are Revell, some Minicraft.
What are they worth ?
For exemple, how good is the revell 1/144th TU95 bear ?

Hey there Pen Pen,
I've seen some 1/144 scale planes in the Squadron catalog for as much as $5 each...... :-)
I also build this scale from time to time, and they are fairly easy and fun to do. The only thing I don't like are the cockpits.... THERE AREN'T ANY !!! Other than that, I think they are great.

One other good thing is that they don't take up allot of room..... #:-)

During my tour on Okinawa, I bought a lot of ARII 1/144 scale planes, before I returned to the US. Like Penny said - not much in the way of a cockpit - but otherwise, I really like them.

I believe the Revell of Germany Hunter has one. Someone from my IPMS club did one for show-and-tell and said it had a detailed cockpit.

That would be fun to look at through a microscope...

1/144 is a good scale for big aircraft. My daughter gave me a double set (F-16/Su-27) from DML. The F-16 is barely 3-4 inches long and the cocpits of both aircraft consist of pilot in his seat. But for bigger planes, like teh TU-95 it is a good scale. However I do not the quality of the kit. Either try a couple of review sites or a web search for possible reviews of the particular aircraft.

There's a company called Sweet Models that makes really really detailed 1/144 scale planes, and are $16 a piece. http://www.tdc.cc/sweet/sweet.html For that price you get two sprues, one clear and one colored.... Check out the link above to see a current list of there planes...

Penny, these kits have impressive decal sheets ! I wish we had such ones for 1/72nd and 1/48th !
And I just love the box art, with the manga characters. They are so sweet !
