I am searching for 1/48 scale US AIR FORCE aftermarket decals typical for choppers painted in AFSOC Gray or something similar.

I think that the best match would be the decals for a CH-53 but anything else could help as well.

I would find it strange that no company would have made alternative decals for the academy CH-53E, or the modern CH-46 but I can't find any.

Could anyone point me to a set like that?

You need to look for Wolfpack Decals' #48004 Choppers Galore. It features a bunch of USAF helo markings, including two sets of marlings for an MH-53J Pave Low III.






As a side note, you won't find any USAF decals for either of the above aircraft as neither are used by the USAF. Both are US Navy/USMC aircraft. There is an update set by Wolfpack for the USN MH-53E that includes some resin bits and new decals.

Flying Leathernecks Decals also does a set for the CH-53D/E in USMC colors, including the Desert Storm Naked Ladies scheme.

There are a few sets for the CH-46 in USN/USMC colors as well.
