I got the Kittyhawk Seasprite and it is pretty dang awesome and since I started the old Revell kit and did not want to just throw it away so I decided to just finish it off with no frills and use the Kittyhawk decals on it as I have the Caracal decals for the Kittyhawk kit. Anyway as if I don't have enough helicopters in progress I decided to go on to one more. I plan on really putting a lot of effort on finishing the Seasprite and here it is so far.

Hey Steve
I use a paint made by Reaper Mininatures, it is made right here in the Great Republic of Texas.
the colors I use are 1. pure black, 2. pure white, 3. clotted red, 4. orange brown.
I am working on an SBS for painting figures that I will post here on Aeroscale soon.

Thanks Doug! No flooding here but the yard was trashed because of leaves and limbs. Looking forward to more of the Seasprite.
Best wishes,
Ian

Congratulations with this very nice model. Very colourful and I like the way you have it on display. The pilots are cool too.
Will you also post progress about the Kittyhawk build?

When I start building the Kittyhawk Seasprite I will post it here for sure but have a bunch of other ones going now so it may be a while.

Hi Doug,
You've done a brilliant job on that kit.
Am I right in thinking that is a re box of the original Matchbox kit? and if so how scratch building did you do?
I'm thinking it's something I'd like to try as the RNZAF operated F's as an interim before receiving the SH2I(NZ).
I believe there are a couple kicking around in museums here.
Cheers
Chris

Hey Chris
The kit is stock except for a few pieces of strip on the main gear legs , the torpedo, and I redid the figures with new heads and helmets and repositioned thier arms.
The decals were replaced with ones from the Kittyhawk kit and some from a Caracal sheet
Not a bad kit really and it looks the part when done
Good luck
Doug
