We had an Osprey Duel campaign and few years ago and people seemed to like it. At the end there were some calls for Duel II. Is it time?
I foresee a year long campaign requiring two models depicting contestants as presented in one of the Osprey Duel books. This one would be open to Armor and Ship modelers as well (I'll be posting this in those forums also).
Whaddaya all think?

Howdy Y'all
I was in the original Duel Campaign. Count me in for Act II. There is a lot to pick from so I'll probably change my mind a couple of times.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Ditto. I could use something cool like this for later 2016.

PS: looking at the list-- I have a Crusader in my stash, looking for a Mig 17 to join it!

Which 1:48 scale Mig 17 & Mig 21 kits are best? Do they come with North Vietnam decals?
I have both a F-4B & F-8E if I choose to do one of the "duels". I'm leaning to a P-40N or F6F & the respective Japanese fighter. I'm a slow builder so these would be the only aircraft models I would build next year.
Of course I do have a Pershing M-26 & a T-34/85...

Not sure about the MiG-17 but the MiG-21 you'd want would be the Eduard MiG-21PF. It's the appropriate match for the Academy F-4C (I assume you're talking about "F-4 Phantom II vs MiG-21") and has NVAF markings.

Bump!
We jumped off to a fast start on this one with about 7 people interested across the various sites. Anyone else up for Duel II?

Thinking about my choices...
The two 'duels' that pique my interest most are the phantom vs mig 21 or the Lanc vs bf110.
Now, i'd love to get my hands on the old Tamiya 48th Lancaster but where to display it when complete???? Ah the dilemmas!

Michael,
I noticed this proposal is moving along slowly. The last Duel campaign did not have many completed models. Do you think the rules could be modified a little?
Perhaps one could team up with another modeler and complete a pair of models to complete the "Duel"? For example I could complete a F6F-3 Hellcat and another modeler complete the A6M5 Zero or vice versa. This is just a thought because the original idea and campaign were a good idea also.
Just my two cents...
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Michael: I just read the rules to the original campaign and the option of teaming up with another modeler was in the rules.
D'oh!

I also included that one model could be up to 50% built. Do you think I should make it that one model can be finished as long as the other is unstarted? The wording would be something like:
The models can be up to 50% finished in the aggregate. For instance, each model can be up to 50% started or one model can be finished as long as the second model is unstarted, or any combination thereof.
Think that'll attract more enlistees?

Paul,
All you need now for the campaign is an Eduard Bf-110. Maybe Santa will be as nice to you as the in-laws have been.
Take care,

Only a couple more enlistees needed for this one. If we get enough people, I'd kind of like to start it on Jan. 1st and run it for a full year. I freely admit I have selfish reasons for this, which I will explain more fully if it works but which I think you will enjoy.
Let us know if you're interested!

Michael,
I have to agree with Damian, you've a got a serious build there. Can't wait to watch the build.
I'm still looking for a partner. The F4U vs. Ki-84 book is coming out this spring; I have a 1/72 Ki-84 as well as a Mig-15.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"
