Ok,I have several Zhengdefu 1/48 scale Su-27s(they are a cheap,Chinese rip-off of the Academy models)Anyway my problem is that the canopies are to small for the kit. After a while of pondering I decided to buy the Academy kit and try to vacum-form the canopy.Weellll that canopy doesnt exactly fit the bill as you might say.Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for this poor sap?

You might have to look for an aftermarket canopy... Otherwise, Italeri/Revell, probably heller also
have su27's that may not be too expensive. Maybe you can find something suitable...

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble Zach.
My suggestion, and this is a mantra, always buy quality. It is almost always worth it.
If you buy anything less, you'll almost invariably get exactly that...LESS.
I know that doesn't help you now, but it will in the future.

BTW, welcome to the site!

Zach,
I think that about the only option at this point is to make a new master from epoxy putty, and then vac a new canopy over the master. I know you've already heard this, but those Zhengdefu kits are just awful. I'm surprised that the Academy parts didn't fit, as the Zhengdefu kit is a knock off of the Academy.
PS- For all of you thinking about the Hobbycraft Su-27, DON'T. Apparently, this is a Zhengdefu re-pop. Nothing like a re-pop of a badly done pirated kit, if you ask me!
