Kinetic Models has released the Super Étendard in both its SuE and SEM forms. Is it worthy enough to take over the title of best 1/48 Super Étendard from the old Heller kit. Tim Hatton [ LITESPEED ] takes a look.

Detail looks very good; no obvious flaws or vices - high praise indeed. I see many ejector pin marks, are these molded on the interior of parts so as not to be visible? I am interested in the Argentina version.

The vast majority of the ejector marks are on the interior parts Fred. So will not be visible when the model is constructed. There are quite a few ejector marks that spoil the detail in the undercarriage/airbrake wells. It should be possible to eradicate these with some care. I tend to use a Dremel type tool to help get into those tricky area. tim

Looks like an awesome kit! I think this needs to go on my to buy list although I am under a self imposed buying ban due to the size of my stash.

I always wanted an Argentinian etandard with Exocet due to the historical significance.

This looks to be just the kit!

Jesper I would not hang around pondering whether to buy it, just go for it if you can. It does look a very good kit and it's not going into my stash. It is sitting in front of me now pleading to be built. So will do a build log in the very near future

My choice as well Jesper. Not only for it's historical context, but I rather like the SuE with the light blue and white rudder. I am having a look at the Kinetic 1/48 Sea Harrier FRS.1 and I am just toying with the idea of blogging a dog fight double build
