Found this on Ebay.....the ultimate photo etch challenge!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/202006-1-48-F6F-5-Hellcat-Full-PE-Model-Jasmine-Model-/131677416208?hash=item1ea895eb10:g:RIUAAOSw1S9WcNd2

Not for me though...I'll stick to styrene.

Cheers,
Joe

Those guys make a Macross Valkyrie model and a Ho229 in PE as well.

Beautiful, maybe even within my abilities, but not within reach of my wallet

(At least that's what I am telling myself until they decide I won the powerball a couple of weeks back, then I'll have to put up or shut up.. -grin-)

I made their 1/350 U-boat and plan to get this soon, the U-boat was no problem to make at all, just watch your eyes as you go cross eyed looking at reflections of reflections of the PE.

I think I'll stick with simple injection moulding. Maybe not as impressive as these kits but at least they won't get deformed into some horrid mess if you drop them.

I am not a fan of PE I prefer resin or styrene.

I'm a plastic scale modeler. I don't see what those 100% PE models have to do with plastic modeling.

Just my personal take on the subject.

This site is for modelling with any type of material. Injection moulded styrene is just the primary material most members work in.

They look more like white metal castings.

I would build it , would also paint it as well . Better then just plain metal , show off the detail better and just thick of all the extra detailing one could do !
