The role of the Poles with the Allies in WW2 is remarkable. Poignant considering their abandonment to the Soviets after the war; yet Polish soldiers (and civilians) distinguished themselves throughout against the Axis. Polish pilots in Spits, bombers, recon, may not have won the war for the RAF, but they certainly helped to not loose it.
