Or rather "Admiralty 9901 Type"
N6181 ‘Happy’ 3 Naval Sqn, Marieux, France. April 1917. Flt Cdr L.S. Breadner.
Kit:
Wingnut Wings Sopwith Pup RFC 32013 - got around to interest in Pups just as RNAS kit sold out.
Pheon Decals' 32014 RNAS Operational Pups
Aviattic Clear Doped Linen decal for under wings and interior cockpit fabric
Been working on it since the Holiday season, so here's a photo release of progress - up to current state the model is in, to resume in real-time.
The pilot's office, built up and ready to go:
Control wires are a little excessive, but the cockpit opening is wide enough to display it all - very little wasted effort here. Certainly, the most wired and rigged cockpit of mine to date - I've omitted lines running into the wings, as they are rather concealed from view.

Fuselage, lower wing and beginning of tail assembly dress around the frame:
Assembly note - I've found it easier to mount the cockpit frame onto the finished lower wing, then assemble fuselage halves to mesh with the lower wing / frames - my method proved a little more alignment trouble free as I've accidentally sanded off frame to fuselage meshing pins.

Landing gear and adjustable vertical stabilizer with some rigging, engine, Vickers machinegun - up!
Note - I've spent time wiring up the engine, forgetting that cowling will cover all of it up... I thought I was working on partially open cowling - from having built too many German rotaries! Oh well, good to know it's there!

Photographs from last night:
and now we are real-time!
Beginning to see appeal of RNAS Pup to "plain" RFC schemes - and can hardly wait for the Camel release!

Hi Ivan
This is going to be gorgeous! Camels are great, but I've always preferred the Pup - Staff_Jim's promised that when we hit the big time, we'll get Pup new-builds to commute into work in. Just kidding - but it costs nowt to dream!
All the best
Rowan

Thanks for the feedback - I've read all, but failed to reply. Need to work on my e-etiquette, though thanks all for following / commenting!
... and Pup is finished:
N6181 ‘Happy’ 3 Naval Sqn, Marieux, France. April 1917. Flt Cdr L.S. Breadner. Wingnut Wings RFC Pup kit, Pheon Decals "RNAS operational Pups" for the markings and Aviattic's Clear Doped Linen decal for any fabric not doped with PC10.
Rigging is jeweler's wire, through wing method.
Belatedely realized this would have fit the Canvas Falcons II campaign, but there is plenty of time! Planning to take a vacation with easier build - unpacked a Roland Cl.IIa last night!

Ivan, fantastic build, you make it look so easy.
I'm a little envious as I have missed out on the RNAS Pup as I took too long making up my mind and buying other things.

So did I - fortunately, Pheon Decals serves up RNAS Operational Pups Set, which I've used to convert RFC pup into Admiralty Type 9901... It comes with correct size navy roundels and other attractive Royal Navy Squadron schemes! Build is identical, though do reference RNAS PDF manual available from WnW site just to double check.

Ivan, thanks for the info, looks like I'm buying a Pup next purchase I make.

A beautiful model. Congratulations. Personally, I have always like the look of the 'Pup'
