I took a break from working on kits to do something I have been wanting to do for some time now, build a new hobby bench. I had been using an old IKEA table that was pretty small as my hobby bench and everything was crowded. When my wife got me those HobbyZone modules for our anniversary I decided to go ahead and build myself a nice bench so I wouldn't be crammed for space.



One trip to Lowe's and two weeks later gave me 24 square feet of bench top, with 8 square feet of overhead shelf for kit storage and another 12 square feet on the lower shelf, plus 16 square feet of peg board and a 4 foot LED work light overhead. This was my first attempt at a real carpentry project and I am thrilled with the results. I don't know why I didn't build one sooner, no more cramped space!
