I am thinking about getting an AH-64 Apache longbow in 1/72nd scale,is there a difference between the two kits? Also, does anyone make detailed sets for this model?

I would go for the Academy Apache. i haven't had good experiences with Italari 1/72 helicopters. also Italari is kind of cheap in terms of quality and detail.

Totally agree with SpaceXhydro. Have had "words" with Italeri about one of their kits. Got onto Italeri customer "services" via their "contact us" page. Their reply was very unsatisfactory.
Gave me the impression that Italeri have no desire at all to satisfy their customers.
I shall not be buying Italeri kits anymore.

Did you consider the hobbyboss kit? Being a more recent release, there are quite a few aftermarket detail sets for it.
