Hi all,Im building the academy F-8E Crusader Ive never built a U.S. Navy or marines aircraft and I need help with the exterior paint colours and also the best brand. my LHS stocks Tamyia,Vallejo,Humbrol and revell. can anyone advise on which brand to go with, Im not a rivet counter so "close match" would be fine. any help and advice greatly appreciated.

The colors are FS 36440 Gull Gray over Gloss White Humbrol 129 is a close match for the gray

Crusaders were generally painted Light Gull Grey over White. The Federal Standard 595B numbers of those colours are:
Light Gull Grey 26440 Humbrol 129
White 27875 Humbrol 130
There are equivalents available from other manufacturers, but some paint ranges do not include pre-mixed colours. You're lucky that Humbrol does
