Can anyone recommend weathering powder kits that stick better than others? I want to use them for simulating exhaust staining and gun residue on a 1/48th scale fw190 d9. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tom,

There are many of them. From personal experience I recommend LifeColor pigments, as well as BRAGDON ENTERPRISES Weather System.

AK Interactive and Wilder are highly acclaimed, too.

Good ol' fashioned artist chalk sanded to powder and brushed on is a classic stand-by, too.

I've had good luck with Mig pigments, and their Pigment Fixer locks 'em down.

I picked up some chalks from my local Hobby Lobby and used the 40% discount coupon. They come in pack of earth tone and gray colors. Just scrape off what you need. They should last me a lifetime.

Go with the Mig or AK,and their fixer,or any of the types made for modelers.The little pots last forever and they are ground finer.

Also a matt base helps a lot, whatever brand you use
