Hi All
Can anyone explain what mods I need to make to produce an F/A-18A+ from an F/A-18 C? I want to build the Ambush scheme from Furball's Oceana 2014 decal sheet. But getting very confused about lumps and bumps?

David, it's a fairly easy fix to render an F/A-18A from a C kit. An A model has the following differences:
Only one blister on the nose below the slime light. The other nose blisters are omitted.
No blister on the starboard side front nose gear door.
No blisters on the spine behind the canopy.
Only two avionics fairings on the tips of the vertical stabs. (C/D model has three)
Simplified burner can....thinner in appearance than on the C/D models.
SJU-5/6 ejection seat
Different instrument panel
Some A's may have the IFF "cheese slicer" antenna on the nose ahead of the windscreen
Check your references for blade antennas. Some A's have the short square blade antenna while others have the taller swept back antenna.
Hope this helps,
Best wishes,
Ian
