Here are a couple of my lindburg b-17 bombers that I have started in 1:64 for my collection. The Black unit will be named the "Abigail Ann" and have tail number 041916 (the name and b-day of my daughter).
Not sure how I will finish out the engine cowls on the Abigail Ann but was thinking black and red checkers but not 100% sure.my goal is a possible unit configuration instead of a actual unit that was flown during WWII.

Very nice work. I like the freelancing approach.
Can't be too many 1:64 scale aircraft model kits around, are you an S gaugian?

I'm not specifically a s-gauger I'm a farm toy guy but I have been published in S scale resource online magazine 3 times now as of this month for different things I've scratch built.
Also at this point the B-17 kit from Lindburg and the Hinkel HE-111 also by Lindburg are the only 3 I have been able to get my hands on. I am hoping to find a couple specific aircraft or have them made as a 3d printed kit eventually if I can't.

Anthony,
Congratulations for your daughter!
Freelancing units and markings? I applaud you. I have several such models.
What are your S gauge articles?
Here are some 1/64 aircraft I found on OldModelKits.com :
Lindberg B-58 Hustler, 1/64, 5304-300
Revell B-25 Mitchell, 1/64, H186
Revell F-104 Starfighter, 1/64, H142-98
Model Power made a die cast Sopwith Camel and Fokker Triplane in 1/64.

One on a Quonset style building, a barn made out of 2 rail cars and a general article about the grain elevator area of my 3'×20' display. The boxcar barn is in the most recent issue of S Scale Resource Magizine,

The other 2 articles are mentioned in the article and are available in the back issues. I will try to remember to look them up and post the links.
Also thank you for the info on available 1:64 aircraft, I am partial to the WWII vintage stuff although a couple puddle jumpers wouldn't be bad to have eventually. Maybe a byplane even. What I would really like is a F4f corsair and a p41 in 1:64 to go with the 3 bombers I plan on hanging above my display.
