Lars,
The NMF looks great in the pictures. But I'm sure that all those scratches, missed sanding marks, and porous putty shows up, up close and personal. I also lived through that with my 1st NMF, and honestly, that's as far as that model ever went. After that I used my brother's tried and true methods with a little tweaking as needed to suit my needs.

1- I seal every drop of putty with Thin CCA glue, let it dry like 30 min and then proceed to sand it, then polish it in stages from 600 emery cloth to 12,000 Micro Mesh pads. If all looks well, then I polish out the entire model.

2- Then I prime with either Alcad2 Gloss Black or Tamiya Gloss black. When dry and cured, which for me is a good 3-4 days, I polish out the primer coat with 8,000 & 12,000 with plenty of water. Be very leery of any sharp edges or raised detail.

3- From step 2 on through completion I wear clean white cotton gloves to hold the model, but during painting I do wear a latex glove (lately I just use latex fingers) on the non-painting hand.

4- Now apply your NMF. If you want a more oxidized looking NMF, then use Semi Gloss Black. I've even used just primer buffed out for a really oxidized finish.

Hi guys,

just at the end of the year I finished this one. No further in progress pics, just the one of the finished model.
I hope you like it.
All the best for 2017
gr TC

Lars,
Just a great build. Nothing like a NMF Jug.

In 1944 that specific plane started and landed 500 meters away from where I live now ...

Got to do one now...seriously

Thanks for showing how it's done:-)
