I started the Fisher Sea Fury a number of years ago and actually began a build thread which faded away over time. The kit was finally completed and it had it's moments. Completely out of the box build and my first completed all resin kit.
Enjoy

That is a beautiful build Peter, very nice work.
I love the spinner, was that masked and painted or decals? Either way, it would have taken some real effort to get such a neat result.
Any in-progress shots you can share?
Cheers, D

Beautiful work.
I will admit that I'm a bit sad though - I clicked on this thread hoping it was a build thread lol.

Thank you for the very kind comments on the Sea Fury. The spinner for the most part was masked and painted and only the very thin black separation lines were decal strips.I was surprised how long it did take to complete the spinner, as there was a ton of masking needed.
I do have some in progress photos and will be glad to post them in a few days.

Pete,
I always loved that Sea Fury, after all I lived through that build day by day. See, I'm not the only one who loves how that spinner turned out.

Hi Peter,
Awesome spinner!! And I really like the high gloss finish on the wings - how did you manage that?
Looking forward to many more posts here on Aeroscale.
Regards,
Kobus

Very much appreciated. There were a lot of fit issues and some casting problems. Paul Fisher came to the rescue and from there is was a joy to build.

Thank you for the very kind comments on the Sea Fury. My basic technique for gloss finishes is to work through the primer coat and then all the color coats, with numerous, very thin layers. Once dry, the finish is super smooth and then I'll apply a few very thin coats of Future (I'm into using Alclad Glosses now). Decals and then a few very very thin top coats. I almost never rub out or polish my finishes.

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your feedback on the gloss finish - I really appreciate it.
I will definitely try your technique going forward - beats the heck out of trying to sand and polish everything mirror smooth.

Hi Peter
That is gorgeous! I've always meant to treat myself to a Fisher kit, and this is another reminder on what I've been missing out on.
I agree with the comments on the superb gloss finish - thank you for your tip on how to achieve it.
All the best

Superb model you show us here Peter! I have already viewed this topic a few times, because i like it very much. Great work on the engine details and spinner.
On what kind of paint will you apply the Alclad Gloss?

Glad to help. The trick is super thin layers, built up slowly. I normally keep my compressor set between 12-18 psi depending on the paint I'm shooting.
I do paint mainly with an H&S Infinity CR Plus and a few different Iwata airbrushes depending on what type of work I'm doing; HP-CS Eclipse, Revolution CR and a HP-M1.

Thanks you for the compliments on my Sea Fury and you are so right about Fisher kits: Top marks all the way around. I'm close to starting my construction thread for the incredible Tamiya 1/32 Mossie, as I just need to make a bit more progress.

Thank you very much for the kind words on my Sea Fury. If memory serves me correctly, the paints are all Tamiya acrylics.

Hope I am posting a few of the in progress photos correctly:
The front Office:
The prop in it's assembly cradle
With replacement parts from Paul Fisher; the 7th Cavalry. Sometimes large resin parts shrink when being caste and fit problems might occur. Two emails to Paul and the problems were solved.
