The current thinking seems to be that the German Lozenge camo was printed on the fabric and then mounted leaving the interior with a muted pattern inside. Now what other planes used printed fabric or painted fabric, and what was the resulting color in the crew stations?

1. The German dyes penetrated the fabric paint does not. The printed dyes were added at the factory before the fabric was added to the sirframes doped and varnished.

2. The painted camouflage was hand-painted or sprayed on the the fabric after it was already attached doped and varnished to the airframe. It did not penetrated past the previously applied dope and varnish.
