Ernie Gee gives us his impressions of the new Tamiya F-14A Tomcat in 1/48 scale. This is a sweet new tool kit with all that you have come to expect from the Japanese model maker.

Thanks for the preview, always wanted to build a Tomcat since I was young, and this may be the one. Now just to wait till it is released.

Nice,it's good to see the missiles included, there was speculation they wouldn't be included.I will weigh this carefully with the AMK kit and make a decision which is best for me.It is exciting to have two quality new kits to choose from.Again, the Golden age of modeling.

I have built several Tomcats in my "youth" but never managed to build one as a "serious" modeller. I think now it is definitely time for a Tomcat for me again with this kit. I personally like the Tamiya kit engineering philosophy. Not overengineered but with reasonable details and still easy to build.
