After the long Roland build I wanted to do something quick and easy. I saw a review not too long ago and it happened to coincide with an Amazon gift card I couldn't decide what to do with.

1st 1/72 Eduard Spitfire for me and the build and part layout was almost exactly the same as the Mk. VIII I did not too long ago, Including the things that bugged me like the upper engine cowl being 2 part and a seam that has to be fixed and loose the extremely fine detail molded into the surface. Still and all it builds up to a nice little Spit.

Never painted invasion stripes so I'll see how that goes.

Marc,
Nice start. I'll be following along to completion, which as you said should be a rather quick build.

Thanks Joel. If the hurricane remnants hit NJ like they say I may get 'er done this weekend. Peeled all the tape last night, one of my favorite milestones in a build, and was very happy to see only some minor touch up to be done with the stripes.

The Camo paint scheme with the invasion stripes are very well done.

Finished the Spitfire this morning. Invasion stripes ended up being to wide is they go a bit too much forward on the fuselage and forced the wing rounds to be placed further out so the back edge runs over onto the aileron. But I'll be darned... it still looks like a Spitfire with invasion stripes sitting on the shelf.

Marc,
It's all about the final finish, and your Spit really does look the part. I really like your weathering as it's most convincing. One would have to look twice and carefully to realize that it's a 1/72 scale model.

As for the slight over size of the fuselage invasion stripes, in reality they were put on by hand in the field, and not to neatly, so you're probably closer to reality then what we see so often see in model form.
