Hello,
when I got to the Berlin modelkit dealer I found the Mistermodel limited edition... the MiG21 and others were only in the Chinese productionline - so I took heraway with me
So I decied to build her in a Soviet camouflage for a Guard Regimment and so her prototype looked like:
Here I#may be able to try out my air-spray-system. Here some interesting details about the
The main weapon I want to install...
it's the Kh-25 from Eduard
it's on her way towards me
Due to their tremendous wight only a pair could be placed under the wings. Here some further information for those who are interesed in deeper knowledge:

Here the moment I want to show: the complex wrapping of the landing gear:
With earlier kits (Revell?)) there were clear stands to place them flying - are there still such items floatiing around???
...so it looks like technical drawn:
Mone b/w pics of a Polish Su-22 (code of the exportversion of the Su-17) with
The cockpit amature dash board:
I suppose it's the brake-parashute
Some open hatch:

The main landing gear in some greyish/stone yellow:

...due to the bad detailling of the cockpit instrument panels I'll have to close the canopy... there are not even rivetheads to immitate the instruments - and I'm denying to pay more for a PE detailing set from Eduard than for the hole kit itself.
So beam me down twenty years in the PE-free kitbuilding era, Scotty!
Pics will follow a.s.a.p.!

Thge very first view shows the instrument panels of the kit to show the lofted areas used for switches & readouts:

Does anybody know what weapensystem is added when part 113 is subjoined to the dashboard????

Now let's have a closer view to the Kh-25:
The most intersting factum is the colouring in bare aluminium:
An interesting alternative - because I love this colouring very much - for me it's the colouring of the Cold War...

And here the diffrences between the Su17 and Su-22 in detail:
I picked out to most obvieously details:
...the bow in the back - the Su-22 is straight...
... and the wedge in the tail - over the nozzle.
And by this it is evident - I bought a Su-22 (the export version) and got the Soviet version Su-17
Here some further/deeper informations: http://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/su-17/su-17_all.shtml

I'll be watching your build as I have this plane on my to-be-built-one-day list.
Bring it on!

I can start now.... don't "push it onto the St. Nowhens-day" as we say in Germany... she's a nice one. I'm not really shure about the how-to-lay-the camo-sheme but I decided to start with the worst part that is openly in the cockpit: the hot-seat. I thought of buying a ready to paint one from CMK or so but then I decided and murred to myself:
"Old Dan Tucker - this is dastard!" We all did it in the 80th like this - we all washed our face in the fryingpan...*
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see what I'm bungle together
Let's start!

Hello friends... now the first smell of real plasticglue wafted through the flat...I started with the kit!
Okay - she is a cheap chicken and what you don't pay you don't get!!! Such as fixing bolts
But let's again look on the kit's detailing from time to time:
A view to the tail fin of the kit against
her the reference drawing... I'think there is nothing I could do about - I'll have to go through and suffer this incorret deeplines..
The nose (still without wight) for the SRD-5M ranging radar (it will be implyed by it's brown-orange colour inside) - the (green gloop is Citardel green stuff)
УБ-32М (UB-32M) Multiple rpocketlauncher for the C-5 (S-5) a2s-rocket is one of the eye catchers - But I'm not really happy with the detailing!
Here a compare picture from a Su-20 at the aircraft collection at Berlin-Gatow
Here the C-5 (S-5) rockets a simple copy of the German R4M.
I've to admit I'm too tired to start with the difficulties of the cockpit and the seat.. so as you can see I did some monkeywork instead.
Have fun!

Something about the d etailing for the
four airbrakes and their hydraulics and pipeing...
Because the kit's airbrakes doesn't fit propperly.

Thanks Drabslab,
I'm in the very (re)beginning and hoping not to do two steps in one and falling on my nose...
But what I'm really struggeling with is the PE & Cie-theme! I could pay more than three times of the kit's unreduced price for PE, alternative decals and resin-aftermarket parts - *being shocked*
Thanks for your very kind answer - nice being told doing usefull things from time to time... if you are married you've got unused to it because it doesn't happen too often
So the next steps will follow,
Yours
