I just bought an old Glencoe kit of a 1/48 scale Venom. The kit was used, but complete, but when I got it home, I looked and the kit had no cockpit. I had thought that the person who put the used kit on the shelf had taken the cockpit parts out, but the instructions did not show a cockpit assembly, so perhaps there was no cockpit included. The kit itself is acceptable, the only problem being no cockpit.
So, wonders I, would I be able to make a cockpit with all the accoutrements? Making the bathtub wouldn't be that big a deal, and I might be able to cobble a joystick out of various diameters of rod, but then I'd have to come up with a seat, and I know next to nothing about the Venom(I'm weak with respect to Cold War aircraft).
Anyone have any suggestions?

The Glencoe kit isn't really 1/48; it's a fit the box kit closer to 1/60 so you'll have to scratch build everything. The ejection seat was the Martin Baker Mk I which looks complicated but is mostly made up of flat shapes.
There's a build on another forum which will show you how not 1/48 scale it is.
If you want a truly accurate Venom, try to find the Accurate Miniatures or Aeroclub kits.

Thank you for the pointers with respect to this kit. As I said before, I don't know much about the Venom, and thought that this kit might be an interesting introduction to the type, so in the interim, I have begun to collect as much information on the Venom. While this kit is merely a start, I might go ahead and get the kit you mention, and put this one back on the shelf next to the Lindberg Goose that I have(note, never trust Lindberg kits for accuracy, as the Goose model I have doesn't much resemble what it is supposed to represent).
I might try to tackle the Swallow, as mentioned in the thread, at a later date.
