Searching for some items for a current build, I stumbled across these random parts that took me down a FOD walk over Nostalgia Airfield. These days I enjoy occasionally taking a walk down memory lane. Just makes me happy.

So what we got here is:
1. Tail off the Sopwith from the MPC (Airfix) diorama set The Red Baron's Last Dogfight.

2. I thought I knew but now I don't know, although I think it is off a Monogram kit.

3. Tamiya 1/50 Ki-61 Tony wing gun bay panels. (You read that correctly, a Tamiya 1/50 Ki-61 Tony.)

4. Hasegawa 1/32 F6F Hellcat wing guns panel.

5. Airfix 1/72 P-38F supercharger intake.

6. Monogram 1/48 P-61 nose gear.

7. Monogram 1/48 B-17 or -24 pilot seat frames.

8. Seat from Monogram 1/48 B-25.

9. Airfix 1/72 ground crew fuel hose, IIRC.

10. A pitot but I can't recall from what.

11. Hasegawa 1/32 F-86 Sabre J47 engine parts.

12. Not an aircraft part but a neat piece: a tool for pulling rubber bands through the recoil cylinders of the Tamiya 1/21 155mm artillery gun. (Yup, a Tamiya 1/21 155mm gun.)

The "?" parts: I don't know where the night fighter antenna came from, nor the little actuator between parts 5 and 9; pretty sure the piece above 8 is some 1/48 Monogram landing gear, and the football antenna upper right of 8 is from the old box scale Revell B-25B.

That's it for now. Hope this was interesting. Next time I may dig out all my 1/32 engines.

Nice ! You could easily start a game based on this with someone posting a pic of an old spare part and the winner guessing correctly posting the next....

By the way, No 6, the Monogram 1/48 P-61 nose gear looks like some kind of assault rifle complete with scope.

Trust me, I know all too well. #7 is from the Monogram or Revell B-17 G/F kits. If the color is dark green, it's almost certainly from the Revell B-17F kit. The parts are VERY similar.

Magnificent!

On my attic I have every box of every kit i have ever build, in many case still with all leftover parts in it.

I have to dig through all that over X-mas. I wonder what I will find in there.

Hi Gang,

Thanks for enjoying these. I have a lot more where these came from.

Paul, great idea! I'll post some more pix soon.

Until then, here is a similar post I put up months ago:

This was once done at a show. They had a big board with 10 parts glued to it and you had to identify the part and the kit it was from. So like one was the joystick from a 1/32 F-22. I remember that because it was the only one I missed as I said the part was from an F-16.

And that's how I got my airbrush.

Another installment.

Did any of you build the Fujimi 1/48 A-6 Intruder? Here are some of the bombs.

The figures are 1/48 paratroopers from Monogram's C-47. Can any of you identify these external stores? Hint: not a Monogram model - yet.

Finally, I am 95% certain that this is the trolley for the atom bomb from Monogram's B-29:

Are those from the Aurora A-7? I know it came in that color for the USAF camouflage and I remember the pylon (with a coat to testors grey) from my spare parts box.
