Hello modelers,
many nice tropicalized 109 are currently build here (for example of modelers ironwork, kahunaminor and Venko555). After reading Venko555´s build log, I rememberd that I had the old Tamiya 109 kit in the scale 1/72 in my stash and could not resist to start this one immediately.

I built this one out of the box and just added some details in the cockpit. The old Tamiya kit is still very nice and a pleasure to built.

Any comments or criticism are welcome!

The detail on that cockpit to me is amazing. In 1/72! I struggle to see the parts in 148!

Hello fellow modelers,
I just found some time to make some little base for the Emil. Now, it looks complete .

Great details in the cockpit and the paint work incl. subtle weathering is spot on.

That looks great Oliver,

Hopefully my build will look as good. If I may, what did you use for the base material?

Christos and Kent:
I am very happy You like my 109 Trop!.

The base was done with a putty for wood:
http://www.molto.de/produkt/molto-holz-reparatur-spachtel/

It drys very hard, but is still a bit flexible. The material itself is slightly grained, hence, it is a nice effect for earth or stony ground. It tends to stick on a spatula, when it is applied, but You can dilute it with water and a wetted tool will help to form the structure You want.

I do not know if it is available outside of germany, but there will be similar products I suppose (I just love home improvement stores).
