Hi mates!!!
For my long-term project "100 years of military aviation in Turkey" I have now finished an F-104G Starfighter in 1/32 scale. The kit comes from Hasegawa....it's an oldie but goldie..
This aircraft was assembled as a license built at Manching (Germany) with parts manufactured by Lockheed and made its maiden flight at November 5, 1962. It was flown by the german Squadrons "JaboG 33, 36, 32 and 34" and underwent many repairs and upgrades. Turkey bought this F-104 in late 1985.
My Model shows an aircraft of the 192nd Filo (Squadron) at Balikesir Air Base in May 1988.
Cheers.....
Stefan

Stefan,
this is really one of my favourite aircrafts and You have modelled it really nice. I did not know, that the Turkish Air Force had Tip tanks in Day glow orange? Were these just taken from the German Air Force?

Very, very beautiful model. The open airbrakes are an interesting detail.

Thanks for your comments, mates! I'm glad that you like my turkish Starfighter...
The Hasegawa-Kit is really nice....an oldtimer but still a great kit.
Oliver, the former Luftwaffe-Starfighter were repainted in Turkey but I think the Turkish Air Force has simply adopted the orange parts of the additional tanks.
Cheers

Looks really neat, cool job. I am not a Starfighter expert but as much as remember our 104s generally have orange marks on tanks. They generally did't look this clean though:} It is really nice to see a TuAF bird bult by intentions other than chauvinism.

Thanks, guys!!
Yalym, TUAF is such an interesting topic. I'm surprised that only a few modelers are concerned with this.
From the Ottoman Empire until today, Turkey has had an incredible variety of types of aircraft in service.
The TUAF is one of the oldest air forces in the world with a cultivated tradition.
Even the adoptive daughter of Ataturk was a pilot, who also participated in flying meetings. For example, in 1938 at a flying meeting in Bucharest, Romania.
As I said, the Turkish aviation history is very interesting.
Cheers
