Hi Chaps
I'm searching for good Bf109 and Stuka kits, preferably in 1/48 scale. Do any of you have suggestions on which one to purchase. Is it best just to stick with the top players like Hasegawa ?
I also found some Academy and Revell kits. How good are these compared to the Hasegawa kits ?
Academy Bf109D Kit #2178
Revell-Germany Junker Stuka Dive Bomber Kit #4796 in 1:32 scale
Revell Germany 1:48 scale Stuka Kit # 4564
Oh yeah and lastly anyone no of places to kind aircraft kit reviews, the only place I really found was the aircraft resource centre but they done really have any reviews of the Bf 109s or Stukas.
Thank you very much

If you want a Bf-109e, Tamiya makes two very good ones. One as you would see in the Battle of Britain and another with Tropical markings and air filter. I've built both (they're really just the same thing with different decals) and they fit together nicely.

If you're looking for the early bf109 versions, look for hobbycraft models. Also, they have the post ww2 czech and spanish built bf109's. Sadly, the quality's not as good as with hasegawa...

For aircraft reviews, go to HyperScale, ARC or Modeling Madness.
For Bf 109 reviews specifically, try one of the ~50 here or one of the ~45 here.
For Ju 87 reviews, try one of the seven here or one of the seven here.
Cheers,
Linz

Leader,
I second ladymodelbuilder on the Hase 109G-6. Even after buying the Cutting Edge resin cockpit and external details sets, the kit still does very well on its own. Good value and no resin needed to make a great little replica.
As for Stukas . . . . (don't laugh Penny ) I still have a big soft spot in my heart for the old Monogram 1/48 Ju 87G and D kits. The cockpit may be somewhat spartan and the panel lines raised, but they build well, look like Stukas and can be detailed with a few photos and plastic stock far cheaper than the cost of buying the Hasegawa Stukas (which are still great kits in their own right, and Hase still makes B and R versions that Monogram doesn't)

leader, i dunno much about acedemy's stuff, since i have 3 but only built 1. I could say that i was most disappionted with the decals though not the price. U could get it if u don mind the decals. I have seen the tamiya's bf-109 in 1/72 and 1/48 form. Needless to say, tamiya is good in both qulity and accuracy. I have one stuka but its an italeri 1/72 ju-87D. It's ok but no..pilot!
u could try this link

hope this helps..
good luck!

I have several Hasegawa Stukas and they are great kits....as for 109's I only have built one by Hasegawa(in the gallery) and it went together well, I also have a Fujimi 109 that looks just as good as the Hasegawa offerings.....I was wondering how the 1/24 Airfix Stuka looks....I was thinking of picking this one up. Anybody have any comments on this kit???

Leader,
that Revell Germany 1/48 Stuka kit you mentioned, is most likely a reboxing of the Hasegawa kit! So then it is definitely worth getting! Revell Germany has reboxed many of Hasegawa's 1/48 kits, including their Stuka, the Hawker Hurricane IIc(have one of those), the Bf-109E4 and the A-7E Corsair II.
Chappy, you should know this, I sent you one of those!
Maybe you can check the kit number for Leader?

Wow
Thanks for the great information and links everyone. Much appreciated.
Chappy that would be great if you could get the kit #.
And I called my local hobby shop and they informned me they had the following stuka in stock from Revell-Monogram 1/48 scale . Kit #0207. Its the Stuka with the additional 37mm outboard guns. This is the one I'm trying to build either using the Hasegawa kit which is $41 or this one which is $18. So is the RM kit any good?
Once again thanks for all your help! #:-)

Leader,
The RM 37 mm tankkiller is the G version I mentioned earlier. It's spartan in the cockpit but easy enough to detail with photos and plastic. Most of all, it looks like a Ju 87G!!
Happy building!!!

Revell Germany 1:48 scale Stuka Kit # 4564
Leader- This kit is a re-boxing of a Hasegawa kit and is nice....probably ALOT cheaper now as a RoG kit and it also has the desert snake decals
