Hi Martin,
I knew you'd come up trumps with this little beauty....It's so simple, it lets the plane live.
There's just enough with the figs and the grass and the "bear pit" tree...
Loveleeeeeeeee....
Cheers and congrats....big time.
Cheers...a round is on the slate in the Naffi...

Really nice job Martin
The painting on the figures looks excellent too for being small scale. Sometimes that is hard to get them to look that realistic when they are that small.

Hi Martin
That looks really neat. The effective groundwork really sets off the model, and it's yet more proof that I must learn how to paint figures... they add so much!
Nice job! :-)

Martin, very nice stuff. Would love to see this dio as an Ondisplay feature if you catch my drift.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
The tree was expertly hand crafted over a six month period until I was satisfied with it........oh alright it was a twig I found in the garden.
I will try to do some better pics and submit them.

I think its a perfect example of "less is more".
The 109 is just weathered enough to make it breath, and the simplicity of the dio base and the two figures just make it live!
Each element has the visual space to multiply the effect of its neighbouring components.
A great one.
Cheers

The plane is Tamiya's 1/48 Bf109E and the figures are from Dragon's Luftwaffe Day Fighter set.
