Hi, guys!

I am building 1:32 Revell's Eurofighter Typhoon.
There are MBDA Meteor missiles are proposed to be installed.

Do this missiles has an air intakes open while they are on pylon or not? The pictures are controversial...

Thank you!

According to the Wikipedia article the air intakes remain closed during the boost phase.
Since that would include the initial launch of the missile, I imagine that they would also be closed prior to launch while sitting on the aircraft.

I'd say closed to stop any dust, dirt and any other kind of crap getting in them during taxiing and take off. Last thing a pilot wants is the missile to fail after launch.

The intakes look painted on in that first photo.

On your first picture it is most likely a fake missile for testing purposes. Remark that there are jacks under the main wheels of the airplane as well.

Thank you very much!

It is makes life a little bit easier.
Revell makes it closed, so I dont have to scratch intake tunnels in this missiles...

Have a good modelling, guys!
