Hi,

I'm looking at picking up a 1/72 RA-5 Vigilante to add to my Vietnam collection and my options are either Hasegawa or Trumpeter. Which am I better off buying?

I'm looking for a kit with good detail OOB, easy to build and with a good fit. Ideally I'm also looking for the decal options to include an aircraft that saw service over Vietnam. AM sheets are a little thin on the ground for the Vigilante.

I know Airfix also did one, but I'm not entertaining the thought of that. Although if it fits the bill, it may be a contender.

So what are peoples thoughts?

A friend of mine that worked on them in the 70's said the Hasegawa kit has the better shape but he said to use the Trumpy kit for details like cockpit, landing gear, etc..

You need to work in the two kits.... (Hasegawa and Trumpeter); but the Hasehawa is an older mold. The Trumpeter model is new, but isnt`t is the best kit in the world
