Giving this one a bump. John's got a great series of campaigns going here and I'd love to see this one join the list. I'll bet there are more members out there interested in these very cool aircraft; time to jump on board!

Well, I've pulled my F-20 and F-21 out of the cartons and moved them indoors to the ready rack.

I may regret this, but I'm in with Kittyhawk's 1/48 MiG-25 PD/PDS. I've understood there are fit issues (and based on other KH kits I've tried to build I'm sort of expecting that), so this may end in the bin like my 2nd gen build. But I'll give it a try

Thanks for the bump Michael.
So far we have Andy, Don, Bob, Mark, TigerTiger, Michael, Pasi and me.
That makes 8 of us.

Would the Mirage IV qualify, or does this campaign exclude fighter bombers?

Well the Mirage IV started as a bomber and then recon versions, if it started as a fighter or if there was any versiob / variation as a fighter I would allowed it.
But it looks like a fighter , at least that...
Drabslab do you have any other kit that could fit here ?
or that's your only option for this Campaign ?

John: What about expanding the rules of this campaign to reach some more modelers?
Looks like many guys have their problem with an exact definition and I agree with Andy's states in his posts.
Since the 3rd Gen. fighters were more or less developed from the 2nd Gen. with recon equipment, better avionik/radar and guided missiles as air to air combat became more and more unusual at the speed they made and multirole/attack aircrafts were requested. That mixture should be considered what gives a larger range of a/c's that cuold be build - fighter-bomber-attacker-jets (?).

Allow me just to point out that the Atlas Cheetah was developed late 70 s early 80s and its first flight was only in 1986.

Oh, I thought this one was already a done deal and we were just waiting for a start date. That may not be a bad think I close to overloaded at the moment anyway. Still have my F-20 and F-21 nearby for when ever...

I'm in and I'm going to build the Anigrand Craftworks 1/72nd Bell D-188A, otherwise known as the XF-109.
I shall post a pic of it once I find it in the stash.

Going with a Foxbat for sure.
Don't know the scale or variant, but it will be a Foxbat for sure.

Let's see what kind of discussion this stirs up: Where do you all think the Sea Harrier fits, gen. 3 or gen. 4?

I just might be interested in joining depending on when it will run. I've got both a F-4C and a F-4J in my small 1/48 jet stash. Last jet I built was the GWH 1/48 scale F-15CII several years ago.

Similar clarification for USMC Harriers. I have Airfix's AV-8A kit...sounds like the 8A/C would be third gen, but 8B would be fourth gen? If so, count me in
