That CAT paint scheme is awesome. I have that kit somewhere. Beautiful Cartograf decal.
the Minicraft DC-6 builds up to a fine looking model, though almost devoid of surface detail.
the 1/144 scale C-5B should be 20 1/2 long and 18 5/8 wingspan.
I am trying figure out what the visible differences might be between Roden's C-5B and a 1970s era C-5A might be - and if it can be posed with all its flaps open.

Thanks Michael for bring this online. I hope you will be able to join as well!

Jonathan, In 1973 while on an aircrew training flight to the Azores (P-3A/B) a C5 flew in and the base had to refuel. If I remember correctly they had every fuel truck trying to put fuel on board and it took some time. My avatar has several P-3s behind me, but not the C5.

Wikipedia says that the differences were all internal so the Roden kit can easily be painted as an -A.
Doing the flaps and spoilers open is a matter of some serious surgery, but when it's done right it can look spectacular. Don't forget the leading edge slats need to be down as well.

Well I have enlisted. Commercial is a whole new world for me.
I hope to build something local and regional so I bit of research required to find an interesting project.
cheers

I, just enlisted. I have, as usual, waaaayyyy too much on my "todo" list but what the heck

That's the spirit!
You mentioned a C-47 in 1/48th scale, that will be a bigger finished model than the 1/144 scale C-5B.

Would a paratroop carrying C-47 qualify?
I'm already thinking about this as a future build and it's always nice to be part of a campaign.

Yes, a C-47 would be welcome, any configuration but "gunship".
The fact that the passengers and their baggage jump out before the aircraft has come to a stop is not our responsibility.

I'm in that's 8. I've got an old tool Airfix C-47, it was destined for an ID model display. It might get a second chance...

Now, this one sounds definitely like lots of fun. So, I am number 9.
I have got no fitting kit in my stash, but this would be a great reason to gain the Eduard Junkers Ju 52 Airliner version, I long to build.
Found some nice old pics in my Dad´s album. The print says, they are from 1962. But, I do not know, where they were taken. Have fun!

I hope it will be bigger, otherwise there would be a strange lapse in the space time continuum.

Hi fellows,
I'm in. At the moment I have a Super Connie in my stash for that.
Had a WC-130J Hercules, too, but I've started that already, because it is "Hurricane Season"...
BTW, I wish all folks down at Florida all the good luck they need

Ha Peter, the Super Connie is one of my favorite aircraft
what kit do you have?
I would like to build a model of this World Airways L1049G
but there is no decal available.
Be careful what you say to the MPs!

Jonathan, we are telling our age by remembering that episode when it first ran. I am looking forward to this campaign so I can see all those beautiful paint jobs.

Sorted thru the stash this morning. Found the kit for the DC-3/C-47 that was going to be an ID model. It's too far along... I did find another DC-3 with Eastern Airlines decals that for sorta started, might be able to peel it back and start over again.. Also found my Embraer 170 Demonstrator, a C-54, and maybe even a Connie.
