The Northwest Scale Modelers (NWSM) group was informed this morning of the passing of John Stewart Alcorn in San Francisco. John was an accomplished scratch builder, IPMS pioneer, and author of the books "Scratch Built" and "The Scratch Builders". John was a Navy Veteran, and a long time resident of the Seattle area. He was active in the modeling groups here in the Pacific NW, and was widely known in the modeling world. He will be sorely missed. His son recently moved him to San Francisco to be closer to him.
