Very nice, are those "decals" really decals or painted on?

It's all decals. They were stubborn but about five soakings in microsol tamed them.

Hi Richard,
you've done a good looking model. I see some interesting details however it surely deserves better pictures. BTW it looks a bit small for an F6F. ;P

Thanks mecenas. I noticed the autocorrect got me there in the title but I can't figure out how to change it.
I need to buy an actual camera I guess.

Richard, really nice looking F4F. What colors did you use for the top and bottom?

I used Vallejo 71.295 USN Blue Grey and 71.121 USN Light Grey.
Mecenas you'll be pleased to know I still have my old DSLR it turns out. Just have to find the charger and the glamour shots will flow.

Yap, I'm waiting to see them here. If you have some additional light or can take the shots in the day light that won't do a harm to the final photos.

Hi Rich,
Glad to see you back. Nice F4F. USS
Ranger, correct?
It looks like you put wiring on the engine? The canopy lines look sharp. Did you mask or free-hand them?

Thanks guys,
This is actually one of two shelf Queens I'm resurrecting, the engine was painted and whatnot about 2 years ago so memory is hazy. But, as I recall the wiring was molded on by the good folks at Tamiya.
I masked the canopy before spraying interior green and then the exterior colour over that. In these new pic's the canopy blue grey looks different than the fuselage but I think the camera is picking up on the green underneath. In person this isn't visible to my eye.
Ranger indeed. I wanted the early war us roundels. Always thought it the best looking us identifier scheme.

Nice work. BTW, that what happens when I try building an F6F, it comes out looking like an F4F.
