I am building a UH-1D for a freind who flew as flgiht engineer on and was shot down in a D model Huey. My question: on the instructions below it show parts PE 1 & PE 6 at the rear of the door travel channel. Were these mounted horizontal in the track or vertical out side? Any help would be most welcome.

They are mounted horizontally in the channels. You can see them below. They are stops to limit the slide of the door and hold it back against the fuselage when fully opened.
The Kitty Hawk kit is really nice. I can't wait for them to come out with the promised 1/35 version.
