I've been trying to simulate battle damage on an od cheap 1/48 Hurricane kit. I thinned down the fuselage from the inside and glued in stretched sprue to simulate the fuselage structure and after painting and decalling I went to work with a knife. I don't think it is working, any suggestions would be gratefuly received.

Hi Martin
I've never tried to model battle damage, but this pic of a Hurricane shows some of the difficulties involved.
Apart from having to reproduce the internal structure accurately, it's also clear that a lot of the surrounding fabric has gone slack and is hanging off. I guess the inside of the fabric would be a pinkish colour, where the red shrinking-dope had soaked through.
Hope this helps
