This is a long shot, but have any of the members ever seen a photo of an all white emblem used by the unit in the topic title?

This was a fighter-bomber squadron created for JG 27 and attached to it's III.Gruppe on May 5th 1942 in North Africa. By the end of August, the unit was absorbed into Jabogruppe Afrika.

Jack

Hi Jack

Do you know what the emblem looks like? I've checked Schiffer's "Luftwaffe Codes, Markings & Units 1939-1945" and, while it gives dates for 10./JG 27, it doesn't show any of its aircraft.

All the best

Rowan

Hello Rowan,

A digital graphic of the emblem can be found here, just after the ones for III.Gruppe JG 27:
https://www.asisbiz.com/Luftwaffe/jg27.html

It is a bird dropping a bomb on something. There is also a star above the bird's left wing, and the whole thing is in white over a blue/red background.

A member of 12oclock forum has now posted a couple images of a crashed 109 with said emblem. Would be great to know some other info about the scene.
