People at largescaleplanes.com are getting derailed over the announcement of the 1/32 B-24 Liberators. I for one would love to have one but the usual suspects are claiming "too many variations, they can't do it!" or "Hobby Boss doesn't do big planes" and other crap. I saw very little 1/35 German armor to interest me, but there is plenty for those with different tastes.
Merry Christmas!

Derailled is good Shell, it indicates there are some modellers out there willing to voice an opinion!!!

There's need of new Liberators in 1/48, not 1/32. Watch it be a copy of the Monogram kit with engraved panel lines blown up to 1/32.

If the Liberator is good, I'll certainly buy it. You guys are over-thinking this.

Hi Tim
I'm afraid I can't get excited in advance over HobbyBoss or Trumpeter aircraft releases anymore. When they're good, they can rival the best, but they've made such a pig's ear things too often through sloppy research. If they'd only release half the number of kits, but double the research and design time to ensure consistency so that the results always match their excellent moulding quality...

I tend to agree Rowan. I was tempted to acquire their new quarter scale A-4 Skyhawk. That is until I saw the kits rudder. Then I put my wallet away.

With all due respect Litespeed and Rowan, the HK Models B-17 was roundly criticized for its shape and accuracy, but it has sold well because there is a market for large scale models of these iconic planes. And Liberators have some of the best nose art around, so the prospects for modelers are very positive. Will the kit need work? Aside from Tamiya, what kits DON'T??
