Tru-Color Paint is in the process of matching some of the early U.S. Army and Navy aircraft (from 1918 to 1945) to the color chips found in the Monogram books.

We would like to send a few samples to "experts" in this field for your evaluation. There will be 4-6 lab made colors to examine in the first batch. Our intent is to have the production runs on these colors made in time to display at the IPMS National Convention (Aug. 1-4, 2018) in Phoenix, AZ. Since we manufacture all of the Tru-Color Paint products in Phoenix, AZ, this is not going to be an issue once we get approvals on the matches.

If you would like to partake in the trials, reply to this thread or email us.

Update on the USAAF and USN early and WWII colors that we had planned to release from 2018 through 2019. Already completed and shipped to hobby shops and distributors are ANA 623, 606, 607, 612, 613 and 616 plus Aircraft Steel which has no ANA # assigned.

For the balance of this year we only have 2 additional colors planned - ANA 621 and 603. Both have been made in production and bottled. These will be released in April.

Many other colors are being matched in our R & D lab and include ANA 602 Light Gray, ANA 608 Intermediate Blue which are important for early WWII USN aircraft (those on Lexington & others used this scheme), ANA 611 Interior Green, ANA 610 Sky Green and 6 other colors used on USAAF aircraft from 1920-1941.

Some of these newer colors will be on display at the IPMS National Convention in Phoenix, AZ to be held August 1-4, 2018. Drop by our tables to discuss your needs, buy some paint and just chat.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to respond to this thread, call or email us.
